How will air arrangements be handled?
Since participants come from all over the country on our tours, it is usually
more cost effective for you to make individual arrangements from your
departure city rather than group air arrangements (since there is usually
less than 10 traveling from any one point). We've also found out that many
participants utilize frequent flyer miles or want to come early or stay
beyond the tour dates. Note that Novel Explorations will be glad to help
with individual arrangements.
What airport will the group be arriving to and departing from:
Please use the Dublin Airport. Note
that if you decide to go to London first there are
many flights between London and Dublin.
Can I come early for the tour and/or stay after the tour and will
Novel Explorations help with arrangements?
Yes you can come early or extend your stay. There are certain restrictions on how
long you can stay in a country without extra documentation (usually 30 days).
And yes, we will help with arrangements. Contact has already been made with the
Academy Hotel in Dublin for any pre-night tour stays.
How do I get from the Dublin Airport on arrival?
You will be responsible for getting to the Academy Hotel on your arrival.
Again over the years, we have found that some tour participants come early
for the tour and arrive at different times. Because of this, we're finding
it easier on all to just start the tour from the hotel on the first day of
the tour. There are several ways to get to the hotel, including private car,
taxi, and airport bus (which stops close to the hotel). The coach will return
the group to the Dublin airport on the last day of the tour. If you extend
your stay, you will be responsible for getting to the airport. More specific
information will be sent in your final tour package.
Are installment payments acceptable?
Yes, they are. At the time of reservation, a $400 deposit is needed. After that,
you can make as many payments as you want. Final payment needs to be received
by 8/18/04. We accept personal checks, money orders, VISA, MasterCard, and
American Express.
I'm traveling alone but would like a roommate. How is this handled?
On the reservation form there will be a question asking if you would like a roommate.
Although no guarantees can be made, we have been fairly successful in the past to
secure roommates for people. After pairing two people up, I ask that they contact
each other to make sure they are comfortable with the situation. Usually this has
worked out well. And as a matter of fact, many continue contact with each other
after returning to the USA.
What kind of documents will I need?
You will need a passport.
Do I need to buy insurance?
We strongly recommend buying insurance and offer insurance through Travel Guard.
However, you may also want to check to see if your credit card has any travel
protection attached to it if you make payment via credit card. On the reservation
form, note that after certain points deposits and payments become non-refundable.
That is why it is important to protect yourself by purchasing insurance to cover
any cancellations or unexpected emergencies. Click on the Travel Guard logo to
