Jane Pettigrew
About Jane Pettigrew
After 12 years as a language and communications trainer,
Jane opened the well-known teashop, Tea-Time, in Clapham, south west London, with two friends. The shop was a
thriving success but as she became busier and busier lecturing and writing about tea, Jane decided in 1989 to
sell her share of the business to her partners.
Today, she works freelance and works with and for a number of tea companies and associations. She works on various projects with the UK Tea Council, trains staff in 5 star hotels for companies from the UK and the USA that supply the tea, acts as consultant on packaging, export, sales and marketing, writes articles and books on tea and the tea industry and speaks at conferences around the world on all aspects of tea and tea history. Over the past few years she has worked in Brazil, Japan, Italy, France, Spain, Holland, Austria, Switzerland, the US, the UK, and on board the QE2 and other ocean going liners.
She appears regularly on television and radio, discussing the various aspects of tea, tea history, cooking with tea, the brewing of tea, tea and health, etc. She has written 11 books on tea, including two guidebooks to tearooms and teashops in London and Paris.
