Still in County Wicklow, south of Dublin, we visited Glendalough, or Valley between 2 Lakes. It is a beautiful area, and site of the filming of the wedding scene in Braveheart (Mel Gibson's movie). Also, it is the site of a monastery founded by St. Kevin in the 6th century. More info on St. Kevin:

There is a round tower by the lower lake, and stunning mountain vistas all around. More info on Glendalough:

Here are pictures taken by the upper lake, which has a beautiful, park-like feel, and beautiful walking trails. Wish I had my dogs with me for a hike! There are 2 photos of Bill...one in front of St. Kevin's cell, where he is contemplating joining the monastic life. Another of him on the bridge, having decided against becoming a monk. I don't think he'd miss me so much, but he couldn't give up the GUINNESS!!!!!!!!!
