"What could be better?" That's what many of our clients say about the unique travel opportunities that combine the love of reading or writing with the love of travel. All Novel Explorations have an overriding literary or research theme, which allows the traveler an extraordinary opportunity to explore in depth a specific subject matter through specialized visits, expert seminars, and interesting discussions. The literary travel encompasses all genres, including romance, suspense, mystery, westerns, the paranormal, and historicals.
However, there is a new aspect to the tours -- themes revolving around the enjoyment of tea. These tea explorations (Teapot Travels) are just the beginning of an ever expanding interest in the tea arena.
The itineraries can take place anywhere in the world. However, Novel Explorations has developed special expertise in literary, tea and research travel throughout Great Britain. From Beatrix Potter, to Jane Austen, to the Brontes, to Shakespeare, to Agatha Christie, there is no end to the writing talent ready for exploration in this exciting part of the world. And what better place to explore medieval history, the Regency period or the life and times of Queen Victoria?
Novel Exploration is happy to develop a tour based on the needs of a specific group. Perhaps you want to explore the castles of Scotland and Braveheart, or the South of Gone With the Wind, or the vampires of Ann Rice, or Hollywood behind the scenes, or the paranormal activity encountered in your favorite ghost story. If you do, Novel Explorations can put it together for you. With the wide variety of contacts we have made, there is always a wealth of expertise awaiting to enhance the special interest travel requested.
And the travel is not limited to land. Workshops at sea for the writer and the reader are also available. Again these are usually theme oriented, and usually are conducted by award winning authors and fiction and subject matter experts.
All tours are fully escorted and usually have twenty or fewer participants, allowing for the maximum interaction with the guides and each other. Of course, the exception to this would be the cruises, where the group size is usually greater than 20.
Imagine yourself following the 19th century coaching trails from London to Edinburgh, staying in coaching inns along the way, traveling part of the way in coach, and visiting interesting sites related to the period or the coaching industry. Or imagine yourself immersed in Scotland Yard and the world of Sherlock Holmes. And then there's the legend of King Arthur and his famous knights. Or what about Victorian life on the east coast of the United States including the grandeur of Newport. Perhaps the reliving of the old west and the days of the early pioneers is to your liking. If these are the kinds of things that interest you, then you're ready for a Novel Exploration. Take one of our educational itineraries and combine the world of fiction with the world of travel. It will be a chapter in your life that you won't soon forget.
